All of you must all be thinking what is Made for Freedom?
Made for Freedom is a life changing business based on ethical and moral standards. Made for Freedom works with women and girl centers who have been exploited and marginalized to provide them with skills and wages in order to rebuild their lives. At these centers, they learn that they have value, they are capable, they are loved, and healing is possible. These partners empower women not only to make the products they sell but to learn how a business works and to use their skills to help others.
I can’t tell you how much this pulls at my heartstrings. When I was younger I was subjected to sexual abuse myself; I have vowed when I was older to help other’s who have been in that situation to know that there is hope. There is light at the end of the tunnel. But most importantly that they do matter and they can come out stronger than ever before.
I had spoken with Jennifer from Made for Freedom and I can see she truly loves what this company is about and what they do. Thanks to Tuey and the ladies at Dream Weaver, their willingness to branch out, and attention to detail Made for Freedom would like to introduce the first item in their Professional line!
I’d also like to introduce you to one of the products from the professional line- The Professional Purse. The dark tweed fabric contains hints of both brown and black making it perfect for every season. For those of you who don’t know me well, purses and bags are my weakness. On the inside, it has a zippered pocket on one side and 2 small pockets that you can put your phone, your gum package. I also like that it tapers up to the zipper enclosure at the top. The Professional Purse comes in 2 sizes.
The Professional Purse is weaved in Thailand at a Center called Dream Weavers. A little back story on how this line came to be. During a trip to Chiang Mai, Thailand. Dawn and Tara had a chance to sit down and talk with Tuey, with help from a translator. Tuey shared her story, introduced the ladies who are employed at Dream Weaver. One of their items was a purse with colorful tribal fabric with an elephant trim and braided rope for handles. The structure of the bag was solid and after a stroll with the Dream Weaver ladies through the market Dawn had a vision for changing the style of the purse to be more in line with a professional bag. Nice tweed and contemporary fabrics, sturdy lining, multiple pockets, high quality zippers and genuine leather handles make the perfect place to attach our first brass tags.
I know that every time I use this purse I will think fondly of Tuey and the ladies at Dream Weaver.
I want to give kudo’s to Made for Freedom’s CEO/Founder Dawn Menske. You are a true inspiration of hope. You have such a Big Heart and it shows in everything that you do. Keep on shining that light everywhere you go.
