Bringing Back my Sunshine is the perfect title for this post.
I am bringing back my sunshine by quitting the awful habit of smoking. I’ve been smoking for years and years- well since I was in grade 8 , so almost 20 years. Yep I’m aging myself quite a bit. A friend of mine Nina and I use to go and hide up in the loft area of her garage and smoke our parents cigarettes. I still remember the name of the cigarettes – Dk’s. They were a brand off the native reservation that is near where I live. I took a carton and we ended up smoking them. We were carrying on like teenagers do, laughing, having fun and chain smoking. We really didn’t want to get caught and well we ended up smoking our heads off and then hiding the rest of them for another day.
We thought we were the “cool ones” you know the popular one’s that sometimes have that bad girl side in them. Well little did I know back then how much that would set me off on the path of being a smoker for the last 18 years. I’m still trying to total up how much I spend on those things. Trust me it’s a lot. Maybe some of you are in the same boat (or yacht) as me. I think in the next few years with the amount of money that I will be saving that will be my goal. To buy myself a Boat ( or a small yacht lol).
So today; April 19th 2016 is my first smoke free day. I’m ready to get rid of the “dirt” that maybe holding me back. I’m ready to bring back my sunshine in the most healthiest way possible.
I would love to know if any of you (my readers) are on the same journey as me? Or who wants to join in and be my stop smoking buddy?
