The very first time I finished writing my Gratitude List, I felt empowered. I felt the energy shift, and my heart feels more open than ever before. I can tell you I have more confidence in my self and what I believe it. I felt more openness to be able to tell someone how much I appreciate them and love them more deeply, including the Self-love that I feel for myself. It took me a long time to find that self-love. I was always in a state of the “victim” through my own personal experiences over the years. I can honestly say when I was at that state where I knew , that I was going down the wrong path and I needed to take matters into my own hands by releasing those pent-up and self doubting emotions I truly came to loving myself. I was always blaming myself for what happened to me, and I now know that I was misguided to making myself believe that.
You see, I was never someone to look for things to be grateful for. I was always looking for the bad things that happened to me, rather than looking at all of the good things that were happening in my life every single day. It was hard when I first started with the gratitude list because of some of those “insecurities” of (what will others think of me? What was I truly thankful for? Would I actually feel better by doing the list?) I was losing myself again with self doubt and what other people think of me, and putting myself in such LOWER vibrational state I didn’t take the time to STOP thinking and just feel. When you’ve lived most of your life NOT focusing on gratitude, it’s not so simple to change that. The old saying goes it takes 21 days(3 weeks) to start a habit, and the same goes for how to break a habit. I’ve had to work daily by allowing myself to feel, to heal. But I have learned that there is ALWAYS something to be grateful for.
Now I want to share this with you, my readers because I feel that my experience and can help you on your path to finding yourself. But also for you to find what you are truly grateful for in your own lives.
This list was just a beginning to an ever growing story of what I was Grateful for, to help me on my path towards finding out who I really am, and for allowing myself to heal more and more as time went on.
I started my list with a daily goal of writing down 3 things I was grateful for. Here’s my 21 things I felt grateful for during the first 7 days.
- My Children
- My Family
- My Love for Art
- Growing plants such as flowers, herbs, food.
- My creativity
- My Friends- for I can always count on them
- Chocolate – literally anything that has chocolate in it.
- Surprises – for the good and the bad they always bring hope and decisions
- Clean drinking water
- Watching butterflies fly
- My heart song- and all music in general- to be able to ear and dance for no reason other than to be happy.
- Being able to help people whether they are family, friends, or strangers here and afar.
- My incoming wealth and success
- Funny and Romantic Movies
- Books- for the ablity to read them
- My dreams and my desires
- Law of Attraction
When you truly take the time and think and write your list, you will see the shift within yourself too.
What would your first 7 day grateful look like? What are some of things you feel grateful for daily?
